Katharina Fischer, MD

Katharina Fischer is a postdoctoral fellow at the Gurtner lab. She is a plastic surgery resident at the BG Trauma Clinic in Ludwigshafen, Germany, under Dr. Kneser. During medical school her research involved exploring shear stress induced angiogenesis in the arterio-venous loop model in rats and tissue engineering free flaps. She spent four months in Dr. Gurtner's lab at Stanford University as a medical student. Her current research involves looking into changes in cellular ecology of diabetic and non-diabetic wound healing in humans and mice.
