Drew Bonham

Drew Bonham is a PhD graduate student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Arizona and a recipient of a T32 training fellowship. His research in the Gurtner Lab focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying wound healing, fibrosis, and tissue regeneration.

Drew has worked with the Gurtner Lab dating back to its time at Stanford University, contributing to research examining impaired wound healing, neovascularization, mechanotransduction, and fibrosis. His previous work has investigated therapeutic approaches to improve healing in aged and chronic wounds, including the use of deferoxamine to restore regenerative signaling and promote tissue repair. His more recent research has focused on how mechanical signaling influences inflammatory cell behavior and fibrotic outcomes and new approaches for improving wound repair.
